This Help Article covers:

General/Overview:

⚠️ NOTE: The Symbol/Kitset Match feature only works on Vector PDF's, and they need to be imported as vectors to use.

There are generally two types of PDF's:

  • Vector PDF - Uses mathematical equations to represent graphics, and

  • Raster PDF - Uses pixels to represent the graphics

πŸ’‘ TIP: A quick way to tell if your PDF is likely to be a Vector PDF before you upload it, from your PDF reader software, do the:

  • Zoom Test - Zoom in (over 400%), graphics remain sharp and clear (no pixelation)

  • Copy Test - You should be able to select a section of text or an image to copy

⚠️ NOTE: On the "Copy Test", you may be able to Select and get the Copy option, however, the Copy option is greyed, it is probably a Vector PDF, but has Security Protection turned on. You will not be able to Import as vector and use the Symbol/Kitset Match Feature.

⚠️ NOTE: If you are going to use this Symbol/Kitset Match feature, ensure "Import as vector" is ticked when uploading your plans.
