This Help Article Covers:
General/Overview:
When a Quote is built, added Labour and Materials (Products) follow their allocated Product Category "Rule" and "Value" of the selected Pricing Rule when calculating their Sell Price in a Quote/Variation.
The Margin (%) or Pricing of the Quote can be edited. Once edited, the Pricing Rule's Product Categories "Rule" and "Value" no longer apply and the Products now follow the Quote's entered Margin or calculated Margin.
There are two ways of editing the Margin (%) or Pricing:
Preserve Labour Prices - The Quote preserves the current Labour Sell Prices unchanged. Materials Margin is adjusted so that the Quote achieves the entered Margin (%) or Total Price overall.
NOT Preserving Labour Prices - The Quote does NOT preserve the current Labour Sell Prices. The entered Margin or a calculated Margin is applied to the Labour and Materials proportionally.
โ ๏ธ NOTE: When editing Margin, you can apply the Margin to "Materials Only". Labour Sell Prices remain unchanged. The Quotes overall Margin will differ from the entered value, as the Quote's overall Margin also includes the unchanged Labour Sell Prices Margin.
๐ก TIP: If you want to maintain the Labour Sell Prices of the selected Price Rule, ensure Preserve Labour Prices is Ticked at the commencement of building the Quote/Variation. On adding the first Kitset/Product, Click in a Margin/Price field and check that the "Preserve labour prices" is Ticked, if not, Tick and Apply.
โ ๏ธ NOTE: Once the "Preserve labour prices" has been Ticked/Unticked, this will display Ticked/Unticked at all locations of the Quote where Margin or Pricing can be edited as any editing flows through to all other areas of the Quote.
โ ๏ธ NOTE: Once the "Preserve labour prices" has been Ticked/Unticked, this will be remembered for future Quotes (All Customers) until it is Unticked/Ticked, then that will be remembered for future Quotes (All Customers).
