This Help Article covers:

General/Overview:

There are two main ways to sell Labour on a Charge Up Invoice;

  • Staff Labour Per Hour - Actual Staff time pulled from Timesheets, OR

  • Labour Per Hour Product - Product created using a Labour Per Hour Product Category (either a System or User Product)

Staff Labour Per Hour

There are four options to set the Sell Price for Sales Invoices, using:

  • Staff Member’s “Pay Rate Cost,

  • Staff Member’s “Pay Rate Trade,

  • Product "Fixed Pricing", or

  • Pricing Rule "Fixed"

Staff Member’s “Pay Rate Cost

Setting the Staff Member’s “Pay Rate Cost”, then use a Price Rule for the Customer that for Product Category “Labour / Katipolt Staff Labour Per Hour” uses the Rule “Margin” and a Value "%" to calculate the Sell Price using the Staff Member's Pay Rate Cost value.

The Sell Price may vary by Staff Member depending on the "Pay Rate Cost" entered and the Price Rule used.

Staff Member’s “Pay Rate Trade

Setting the Staff Member’s “Pay Rate Trade”, then use a Price Rule for the Customer that for Product Category “Labour / Katipolt Staff Labour Per Hour” uses the Rule “Trade” and a Value "%" to calculate the Sell Price using the Staff Member's Pay Rate Trade value.

The Sell Price may vary by Staff Member depending on the "Pay Rate Trade" entered and the Price Rule used.

Product "Fixed Pricing"

"Fixed Pricing" the Staff Member's Labour Product, the Sell Price using the Fixed Price entered.

The Sell Price can be set by Staff Member for: a Job, a Customer, or All Customers. Over-rides any “Pay Rate Cost” or “Pay Rate Trade” pricing.

For more information on Fixed Pricing see the Help Article: Sales – Product Fixed Pricing (Add – Edit - Delete)

Pricing Rule "Fixed"

Using a Price Rule for the Customer that for Product Category “Labour / Katipolt Staff Labour Per Hour” uses the Rule “Fixed” and a Value "$", the Sell Price using the Value entered.

The Sell Price can be set by Price Rule. Over-rides any “Pay Rate Cost”, “Pay Rate Trade”, or "Fixed Pricing" pricing when that Price Rule is used.

Changing any of the Katipolt fields highlighted as "italics" above will change the Sell Price for that option.

Labour Per Hour Product

There are four options to set the Sell Price for Sales Invoices. The same options as for "Staff Labour Per Hour" above, except the first two options use the Labour Product's "Cost Price" or "Trade Price".

To change the "Staff Labour Per Hour" Sell Price

Staff Timesheet entries sold on a Sales Invoice use the Pricing Rule’s “Labour / Katipolt Staff Labour Per Hour's” Product Category's selected Rule/Value to calculate the Invoice's Sell Price.

Setting a Staff Member’s “Pay Rate Cost*” and/or “Pay Rate Trade*” is done from the Staff Member's Profile Window. Company Settings > Staff Top Tab > Staff Member.

Setting the “Labour / Katipolt Staff Labour Per Hour” Product Category's Rule/Value is done from the Price Rule Book. Company Settings > More/Pricing Rules Top Tab.

To change the "Labour Per Hour Product" Sell Price

Labour Product entries sold on a Sales Invoice use the Pricing Rule’s “Labour / Labour Per Hour” Product Category's selected Rule/Value to calculate the Invoice's Sell Price.

Setting a Labour Product’s “Cost Price*” and/or “Trade Price*” is done from the Labour Products page. Side Menu's Products > Search Product Code.

⚠️ NOTE: If a Labour Product is a System Product, you need to unlock the pricing first to edit, but you will only be able to edit the Cost Price.

Setting the “Labour / Labour Per Hour” Product Category's Rule/Value is done from the Price Rule Book. Company Settings > More/Pricing Rules Top Tab.

💡 TIP: The Price Rule's Product Category “Labour/Katipolt Staff Labour Per Hour” and "Labour/Labour Per Hour" Rule/Values can be set differently for each Price Rule Book.

💡 TIP: If a "Sell Price" is not displaying the value you want, check the “Labour/Katipolt Staff Labour Per Hour” or “Labour/Labour Per Hour” Product Category's Rule/Value for the selected Invoicing Pricing Rule. If this looks right, then check the Staff Member's “Pay Rate Cost*”/"Pay Rate Trade*" and/or the Labour Product's “Cost Price*”/"Trade Price*.
