General/Overview:
⚠️ NOTE: Quotes/Estimates are added from a Job, I.E. the Job must have been added first. For more information on adding a Job, see the Help Article: "Jobs (Add - Edit)"
Quotes can be built using
Manual Sections (Quote Side),
Plan Sections (Visbuild Side), or
A Combination of both Manual Sections and Plan Sections.
💡 TIP: The Icon on the left of a Quote's Section tells you if a Section is a Manual Section (Quote Side) or Plan Section (Visbuild Side).
Quotes and Estimates are displayed in the Quotes List of the Side Menu's Quotes and the Quotes Top Tab of a Job Window.
To Enable a User to Add or Edit a Quote
For a User to be able to Add or Edit a Quote they need to be enabled on the Katipolt Desktop side. To do this they need to be added to a Katipolt Role with permission “Add/Edit Quotes” toggled to "On".
Company Settings > Staff Top Tab > Roles Expandable Section > Select a Role that displays Katipolt “Add/Edit Quotes” toggled to "On" OR from a Role toggle it to "On" > then select the person from the “Assigned To” dropdown to add
⚠️ NOTE: Toggling "Add/Edit Quotes" to "On" also toggles "View Quotes" to "On". You can Toggle just "View Quotes" to "On" which allows a User to View Quotes, but not Add or Edit a Quote.
💡 TIP: Toggling "View Quotes" to "Off" hides the Dashboard Key Information Chart or Tiles related to Quotes.

A Quote/Estimate can be Saved to change a Quote to an Estimate OR an Estimate to a Quote.
1. From a Quote/Estimate's [SAVE] button, Press the dropdown options to display Option "Save as estimate" OR "Save as quote", then Select the Option to suit
⚠️ NOTE: When saving a Quote as an Estimate, the Estimate PDF now follows the Estimate default wording. When saving an Estimate as a Quote, the Quote PDF now follows the Quote default wording. Any editing to the Quote/Estimate's "Document Wording" will be lost on the save when changing.
⚠️ NOTE: When saving as a Quote, invoicing is done by Progress Claiming the Quoted amounts by either a $ value or % value of the Quoted Amount. When saving as an Estimate, invoicing is done as a Charge Up Invoice (displaying Costs to Date as Labour and Product lines)
To Edit the Quote/Estimate
Open the Quote, then depending on the Quote's Status, either:
Make changes, then Save again,
Unlock, make changes, then Save again, or

⚠️ NOTE: If the Quote/Estimate has been Accepted and has a Progress Claim/Charge Up Invoice and/or a Variation added, the Quote/Estimate cannot be Unaccepted. This also includes if the Progress Claim/Charge Up Invoice has been Voided and/or the Variation Cancelled.
