Visbuild Tools & Options to use when creating Quotes from Katipolt’s dedicated Visual Quote Builder

This Help Article covers;

⚠️ NOTE: When using a Visbuild Tool or Option, to return to the default “Drag & Drop” Kitset functionality, Press the "Pointer Tool" (or the "P" key on the keyboard) to disable the current Tool.

💡 TIP: For a list of Visbuild Tool or Option shortcuts, Press the "Ctrl + H" on the keyboard.

Undo, Redo Tools

From the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's Edit sub-menu, Press "Undo" or "Redo" to undo or redo recent actions

Copy/Cut & Paste Tool

Press on an element, or Drag across a Group of elements to Select, then from the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's Edit submenu, Press "Copy" or "Cut" to copy or cut. then repeat and Press "Paste" to paste

💡 TIP: Following Selection, Right-Clicking on the Selection also gives the option to "Copy" or "Cut, then Right-Click to "Paste".

Group/Ungroup Tool

The Group/Ungroup Tool is used to Group or Ungroup elements. Grouped elements can be;

  • Moved on the plan together as a Group

  • Copied, Cut, Pasted or Deleted as a Group

  • Given a Group Name then Saved to a User Library

Drag across a Group of elements (Kitsets, Quote Lines, Text Boxes) to Select, then from the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's Edit sub-menu, Press "Group" to group. Repeat if need and Press "Ungroup" to ungroup

💡 TIP: Following Grouping, if saving to a Kitset Library, while the elements are selected, from the Properties Panel give your Grouping a Name.

Delete Tool

Press on an element, or drag across a Group of elements to Select, then from the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's Edit submenu, Press "Delete" to delete

💡 TIP: Following Selection, Right-Clicking on the Selection also displays the "Delete" option OR while selected, Press the keyboard "Backspace" key to delete.

Zoom Options

The Zoom Tool is used to zoom in/out on the Plan

From the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's View sub-menu, Press a Zoom Option to scale the Plan or Grid Up/Down

  • Reset Zoom - Pressing zooms the Plan to the original cropped sizing

  • Zoom to fit - Pressing zooms the Plan to fit the Main Window

  • Zoom to Selection - Pressing zooms in on a selection, centering the selection to the middle of the Main Window

  • Zoom in - Pressing multiple times zooms in on the Plan

  • Zoom out - Pressing multiple times zooms out on the Plan

  • Grid size - Press to display options, then Select the desired grid size

                         

Show Grid/Drawing Bounds Options

The Show Grid option displays a grid on the Plan to assist with lining up elements and the Drawing Bounds Tool displays the borders used when Previewing the Quote PDF

From the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's Preferences sub-menu, Press "Show grid" to display the grid or "Show drawing bounds" to display the Plan boundaries

Show Additional Element Info Option

From the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's Preferences sub-menu, Press "Show additional element info" to display the information

Show Pricing Option

The Show Pricing option displays the current Quote pricing on the Visbuild Window

From the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown's Preferences sub-menu, Press "Show pricing" to display the Pricing

Manage Libraries

Use the Manage Libraries to create your own User Owned Libraries to save commonly used Kitset or Kitset Groups

From the Tools & Options Selector's "Options" dropdown, Press "Manage Libraries" to display the Manage Libraries popup. For more information on Managing Libraries, see the Help Article "Visbuild - Kitsets - User Owned Libraries (Add-Edit)"

Pan Tool

The Pan Tool allows you to move the Plan around the Main Window to centralize the area you are working on

From Tools & Options Selector, Press the "Pan (O)" Tool Icon, then Press on the Main Window and Hold on the Plan to Grab, then drag the Plan until positioned as desired

Quote Line Tool

The Quote Line Tool allows you to add a Product OR Product Lines to a Quote “for this Quote only”

From Tools & Options Selector, Press the "Quote Line (Q)" Tool Icon, then Press on the Main Window to display the Quote Line popup.

From the Quote Line popup, Enter: a Name, a Description, Labour & Products as needed, then Press [DONE]. For more information on Adding Quote Lines, see the Help Article "Quote - Kitset/Quote Lines (Add-Edit) Plan Sections"

Text Tool

The Text Tool allows you to add a Text Box to a Plan OR use it to mark changes by using the Cloud Shape

From Tools & Options Selector, Press the "Text (T)" Tool Icon, then Press on the Main Window to display a Text Box.

⚠️ NOTE: Adding text to a Text Box is done from the "Text" field of the Properties Panel.

Stamp Tool

The Stamp Tool allows you to select a Kitset Icon, then stamp the Kitset on the Plan (instead of Draging & Dropping multiple of the Kitset)

Either from Tools & Options Selector, Press the "Stamp (S)" Tool Icon, then Press on a Kitset Icon OR from a Kitsets Library, Long Press on a Kitset Icon to select the Stamp Tool, then Press on the Main Window to Stamp the Kitset on the Plan

💡 TIP: When stamping, the selected Kitset will display the Icon in a white "box"

Line Tool

The Line Tool allows you to add Lines to a Plan, use Lines to Connect/Join elements such as Kitsets, Quote Lines, and Text Boxes OR use lines to add Lines/Arrows to a Plan, OR use Polyline to create a continuous multi-directional line

From Tools & Options Selector, Press the "Line (L)" Tool Icon's dropdown, then Select "Line" or "Polyline"

  • Line – Allows you to add a line that connects Icon to Icon or creates Arrows, Press from/to Kitsets, Quote Lines and Text Boxes to Connect/Join OR Press & Drag across the Plan, then Double Press to create an Arrowed Line

  • Polyline – Allows you to add a continuous multi-directional line, Left Click, Hold & Drag to create a line, then Click on the Plan & Drag to change direction

💡 TIP: Hovering over Options of the Line Tool dropdown you can pre-select the Line Type before you add the line(s), OR lines can be Edited after adding from the Properties Panel. Select the Type of line (SOLID, DASHED or DOTTED)

  • Solid, Dashed or Dotted,

  • Line or Arrow end,

  • Colour, and/or

  • Width,

💡 TIP: To Select a Line, Press on the Plan and Swipe across the Line with the cursor.

💡 TIP: To edit multiple lines, while the pointer tool is selected, select a line, Press & Hold the [Shift] key, then Press on the other lines to select, then you can colour/size them all at the same time.

💡 TIP: To add an arrow to the last element, Press on the element, drag away from the element and double Press on the Plan

💡 TIP: Hold the [Shift] key while drawing lines to snap to the nearest 90°/45°

Icon/Text Size Tool

(Displays in Properties Panel when other Tools are not displaying a Property Panel)

The Icon/Text Size is used to increase/decrease the Icon/Text sizing

From the Properties Panel, Press on the "Icon Size" or "Text Size" slider, then Slide to achieve the desired Icon or Text size

Alignment/Flip/Space Tool

(Displays in Properties Panel when elements are selected)

The Alignment/Space Tool is used to align or space selected elements

Press on the Plan, then Drag across the elements (Kitsets, Quote Lines, Text Boxes) to Select, then Press on an Alignment/Space Tool option to align or Space

💡 TIP: Use the Flip Tool where you have two apartments on a Plan and one is reflected, add the Kitset Icons to one apartment, select "all" and Copy, then Paste & Drag to the other apartment, then use the Flip Tool to flip the Kitset Icons positions.
